City and Guilds 2396-01 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations

Whenever new installation work is carried out someone will have to make crucial decisions relating to the installation design. It is a legal requirement that the person making such decisions must be competent to do so.

This level 4 City & Guilds course gives sufficient technical knowledge and understanding to ensure the designer makes informed decisions.
The course is aimed at personnel who have responsibilities for electrical installation design decisions, are required to interpret inspection findings and test data and ensure the electrical installation complies with the Electricity at Work Regulations and the IET Wiring Regulations.

Assessment methods include a written examination and a design project.
Delegates require either a City & Guilds 2394-01, 2395-01 or 2391-10 qualification as a prerequisite for the course. Anyone who does not possess any of the listed qualifications may be eligible to attend the course. Please contact one of our course advisors.

Anyone who already possesses a City & Guilds 2391-20 level 3 qualification may wish to up-grade this by completing the new Level 4 City & Guilds 2396-01 course.

Materials

Delegates will need up to date copies of BS7671 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, Onsite guide to BS7671, Guidance note 1 and Guidance note 3 for this course. These publications can be purchased on request beforehand if required

2391-52: Combined Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection and Testing

This 5 day course is a combination of the 2391-50 and 2391-51 training courses and will allow candidates to complete both qualifications without attending the centre on separate occasions - covering the same level of content as in the main courses.
