The South Yorkshire Carnival Arts Regional Festival (SYCARF) will take place from Friday 15 July to Saturday 30 July and will include a carnival fashion show, comedy festival and food festival across the two weeks. It is also set to include dance and theatre shows, exhibitions, workshops, a jazz evening, live DJs and much more. The fortnight of events is being organised in collaboration with Debora Alleyne De Gazon, creative director of London's Notting Hill Carnival. John Silker, chief executive of Magna trust, said: -We're excited to have a special VIP night to launch our summer carnival. -With the planning of the festival now into full throttle, things are starting to happen already and before we know it the festival will be upon us. Hopefully it's going to be an annual event on the calendar. Magna is also encouraging local school, community and dance groups to get in touch to find out how they can be involved.
